- Tesla instructs owners of Model 3 2017–2023 and Model Y 2020–2024 not to apply a screen protector to the touchscreen. This glass is not for those vehicle touchscreens.
- Tesla warns of possible unintended inputs, delayed response, unresponsive touch and electrostatic discharge damage. A 0.33 mm thickness, clear finish or brief successful touch test does not override that instruction.
- Damage caused by installing a screen protector is excluded from Tesla’s warranty. This does not create an additional store policy.
- If an existing protector is associated with abnormal controls, park safely and obtain Tesla and product guidance for removal; do not scrape or force damaged glass against the screen.

Does the thin glass guarantee normal touch response?
