- Clear loose debris.
- Fit each matching cover using its supplied retention instructions. Do not loosen original fasteners, disconnect the actuator, drill trim or force a cover against hood hardware. Leave the covers off if the correct retention and clearance cannot be established.

- The illustrated hood-area cylinder is part of the active-hood pedestrian-protection system on equipped vehicles. Do not loosen, disconnect, press on or modify the actuator, its wiring or original mounting hardware to fit a cover.
- Normal hood opening and closing does not establish active-hood deployment compatibility. These covers do not replace or repair the pedestrian-protection system or the original drainage system.
- Remove accumulated debris regularly. If a cover loosens, water pools, the hood binds or a vehicle warning appears, remove the affected accessory and arrange appropriate inspection before continued use.
