Read the Full Label
The image shows 1598486-00-F with 16V, 6.9Ah and 99Wh markings. The approved revision is identified by VIN, not by model year or part-number family alone.

Housing and Mounting Points
The silver housing has vehicle mounting points.
Vehicle Configuration Matters
This battery is not a drop-in 12V lead-acid conversion. Other lithium packs and revisions use different Tesla parts.
Compatibility
| Model | Years / Version | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Model 3 | 2021–2023 | Existing factory lithium low-voltage system; approved part revision by VIN |
| Model Y | 2021–2023 | Existing factory lithium low-voltage system; approved part revision by VIN |

What's in the Box
- 1×lithium-ion low-voltage battery
Installation
- Follow the applicable vehicle procedure for access, low-voltage isolation, removal and mounting; use the specified fasteners and reconnection sequence.
- Complete the vehicle-specific new-battery learning routine and any required software or configuration procedure. For 2020–2024 Model Y, the lithium-battery procedure includes Learn New Battery with FW 2023.44 or later, and software reinstallation when the replacement configuration is CATL_LI_ION.
- Arrange approved recycling of the removed pack.
Good to Know
Caution
- Do not fit this battery as a drop-in conversion for a 12V lead-acid vehicle.
- Not all 1598486 revisions interchange, and case color alone does not determine compatibility. Other lithium battery types use different vehicle-specific parts.
- Complete the applicable battery-learning routine and software/configuration procedure before returning the vehicle to service.
- Keep terminals protected from short circuits.
- The product photograph is an identification example, not proof of the condition of the unit shipped.
- Lithium-battery shipping and disposal must follow the applicable carrier and local requirements.
Care
- Keep the battery protected from damage and short circuits during handling and transport.
- If a battery or electrical warning appears, obtain diagnosis rather than assuming every wake-up fault requires a new battery.
FAQ
Is this the traction battery?
No. It is the small low-voltage auxiliary pack, separate from the high-voltage battery that drives the motors.
Can it replace a 12V lead-acid battery?
It is not a drop-in conversion for a 12V lead-acid system. No. It replaces an existing factory lithium low-voltage battery.
Does an F label replace every D or G revision?
No. Revisions sharing a part-number family are not all interchangeable.
Is a black-case lithium battery always incompatible?
Case color alone is not a compatibility test. Tesla allows both silver NMC and black LFP variants on applicable HW4 Model Y configurations.
