Installation

- Refit the panels.
- Trailer electrical connections use Tesla-designed connectors; no splicing into vehicle wiring.

Does this allow a Model Y to tow 6,500 lb?
No. Installing the receiver does not increase the vehicle’s approved towing or payload limits. Follow the applicable vehicle manual and the lowest documented limit of the complete hitch, mount, trailer or carrier setup.
Is this a complete tow-package retrofit?
No. It is a mechanical receiver and hardware kit. Vehicle towing equipment, electrical connections and software are separate.
Does the trailer tongue limit also apply to a bike rack?
Do not treat those limits as the same. Carrier loading includes the rack’s own weight and its leverage from the receiver; use the applicable vehicle and accessory instructions.
Are a hitch ball and hook included?
No. Select compatible accessories separately. The 2-inch receiver dimension describes the accessory shank interface, not the required hitch-ball diameter.
